The Mortuary Assistant has a few surprises in store for you, involving plenty of tension, creepy events and hard-to-come-by endings. To provide some help on the latter one specifically, we are going to break down where a certain tricky couple of keys are hiding that lead to its hardest ending to discover.

How to Find the Keys in The Mortuary Assistant
The basement ending in The Mortuary Assistant has been the most difficult ending to discover due to these two elusive keys. Your first step is to find the key that opens the storage room found within the basement. This well-hidden key is located in the Embalming room within the third drawer and underneath various papers that you will have to interact with to move out of the way. This drawer is the one at the left corner of the room when facing the PC; the one that contains the two access cards.
After this, follow these steps:
- Head to the cremation room when a hatch appears – this will be a random event, so keep your eyes peeled.
- Go through the hatch and upcoming door until it leads to heads that you can interact with.
- Note down the numbers on their foreheads.
- Continue down the path until you interact with a grave and let the scene play out.
- Return to the Embalming room from outside and go to the counter beside the window next to where a body would be positioned. An obscured keypad can be vaguely seen in the left unit here.
- Interact with it and input the numbers as seen just before from the heads (197044).
You have now obtained the hatch key. Go back outside and use it on the hatch to make your way to the basement and its subsequent ending by using the first key you found on its storage room door. Explore, then ensure to finish this run by burning the correct body to see this ending play out.
