Stalker nests or Stalker hives can be a pain while exploring around in Helldivers 2 because they will spawn the annoying Stalkers that don’t look like much but can get you pretty quickly if you’re not careful.
The Stalker nests will be all over the place and can be destroyed relatively easily, but the main task is finding them. We’ve dug around and found a couple of quick and easy solutions that will help you find the lairs of these beastly bugs and put an end to them.
How to Locate Stalker Hives in Helldivers 2
Helldiver nests can be found easily by using 2 methods. Firstly, pay attention to the direction from which the Stalkers are coming from. Secondly, check the map for any dark spots that you can mark. More often than not, they are Stalker Hives.
Players have been discussing this for a while, and it makes perfect sense to remember the direction in which the Stalkers are coming at you. If a couple of them have come at you from the North, just push in that general direction, and you will soon find a Stalker nest.
Another recently discovered tip points to the map. If you happen to check your map, see a black spot, and as you drop the pin in it, it turns into a box, then you’ve found yourself a Stalker hive from a distance. The hive should also be shown on your compass. This would reduce your open-world searching and put you on the quicker path of destroying these.
However, discovering the Stalker nests by dropping a pin on the map sounds like an unintended bug to me more than a feature. So, use it while you can because I believe this will be changed or removed in the future.
How to Destroy Stalker Nests and Stalkers
Stalker nests can be destroyed by either shooting an explosive ammunition at it or simply dropping a grenade inside. The orange light coming out of it will shut down, and you will get a message on your screen telling you that you’ve successfully destroyed it.
To kill Stalkers efficiently, you need to be on high alert. Even though they have their invisibility mode, in fog and during the night, they can be fairly easily spotted. If you look closer, you’ll see their outlines/silhouettes.
Their main power lies in their ability to throw you around. That’s not so dangerous if you’re encountering a single Stalker. But if there’s a bunch of them coming at you at the same time, and you get thrown in the air by one of them, you’ll most likely be killed before you can get up and fight back.
