To unlock the ‘Endangered Species’ Achievement, players must find and defeat the 15 Unique Monsters in Chained Echoes. These are located throughout Valandis, usually found through exploration of the Regions. Some of these Bosses are located in easy to find places, however others require you to complete specific objectives in order for the Boss to appear. These can be to defeat a certain amount of standard enemies or to check an area repeatedly for the Boss to show themselves. For players looking for Humphry the Hungry, this guide will show you how to find this Boss.
Where to Find Humphry the Hungry
Humphry the Hungry can be found inside the Flower Fields of Perpetua. The specific area however, is the Perpetua Desert. The Desert is located on the south-east side of the Flower Fields. However, Humphry the Hungry cannot be seen at first. In fact, you will have no idea this Unique Monster exists unless you know what you have to do for this gigantic worm to appear. In fact, the worm is slithering its way under the surface of the Desert. Feeling like the Mansion of Madness Mission in Timesplitters: Future Perfect.
To make Humphry appear, you must find the bubbling sand on the surface of the Desert. These are 3 spots in which this will appear and you must find them in order of appearance. The first is located in the north-west side of the Desert, out in the open. There is nothing nearby the bubbles to mark this area as particularly distinct. The best thing you can do when looking for these is to stay inside the Sky Armor at all times. Make sure that you drop to the floor when you find the bubbles as you need to interact with the spot for the bubbles to disappear and reappear somewhere else.
The next spot you will find these bubbles in the sand is located in the north-east area of the Desert. Nearby is a campsite. You will see the bubbles to the far-right of the camp. Once again, interact with the spot for the bubbles to disappear. From here, head south-west just slightly where you will find the church. The third and final bubbles are located north of the church. This time when you approach (drop down in the Sky Armor), Humphry will reveal himself. The fight begins and you quickly realise that any attack you execute, this giant worm can just as quickly replenish its health. Use light attacks to defeat this Unique Monster.
