How to Find Combiners in Nalao Lake in Freedom Planet 2

Everything is better with combining robots!

It’s a scientific fact that everything, everything, is better with giant combining robots. I dare you to find one thing that isn’t improved with the inclusion of huge machines that combine together to make an even bigger machine. You can’t do it. As it so happens, such a machine is your only hope of surviving Nalao Lake in Freedom Planet 2. Here’s how to find Combiners in Nalao Lake in Freedom Planet 2.

How to Find Combiners in Nalao Lake in Freedom Planet 2

Midway through the Nalao Lake stage of Freedom Planet’s second major story arc, Lilac and company are forced into a temporary truce with Aaa after Serpentine takes control of his soldiers. In order to defeat Serpentine, you’ll need the help of Aaa’s BFF-2000, the same giant robot you fought at the Shang Mu Opera House, but you’ll need its Combiner components first.

When you first enter this part of the stage, you’ll land next to a transparent orange platform. Stand on this platform, and three arrows will appear, pointing in various directions. These arrows give you a general idea of where to find the Combiners in the open area you’re stuck in. The paths you need to take are fairly clear, and while there are a lot of soldiers in your way, you can just run past them for the most part. The only enemies you should stop and deal with are the circular ones that place large energy bars on either side of you, as this can be very annoying while you’re trying to get around.

When you find a Combiner, it’ll have a solid green platform you can stand on to activate it. You can activate them in any order, but here’s a general outline to help you along:

  1. For the first Combiner, go right a short distance from the orange platform until you come to a water bridge. Jump down into the gap to its left and you’ll be in a small underwater area. Go left around the bend until you find a float bubble to carry you up, and you’ll find the first Combiner on a small cliff.
  2. Immediately after the first Combiner, go back into the water and follow the underwater path right until you come to a green unfurling bridge. Smack it to extend it, then go up right after it ends to find the second Combiner on your right.
  3. From the second Combiner, extend the green bridge to your right, then ride the float bubbles up to a cliff. There’ll be another transparent orange platform pointing you diagonally upward. Use your movement abilities to jump up through the gap, past the thorny wall, then jump up to the right cliff to find the last Combiner. Any character can do this part, though it’s a bit easier with Lilac or Milla.

Once you find all three Combiners, you’ll form the BFF-2000, allowing you to rampage through the rest of the level with boosters and lasers. Have fun!
