Trolling through Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City reminds me why I’m not especially fond of city living: there are so many twists and turns, it takes forever to get anywhere, and it’s easy to get lost. If you can’t be bothered to drive yourself to and from your missions (and I know I can’t), it’s time to turn to our good friend Mr. Fast Travel. Here’s how to Fast Travel in Cyberpunk 2077.
How to Fast Travel in Cyberpunk 2077
Here are the steps to fast travel in Cyberpunk 2077:
- Open your map and locate a Fast Travel Terminal
- Head to the Fast Travel Terminal and activate it
- Select your Fast Travel destination
Place to Place
Okay, so good news and bad news about Fast Traveling in this game. The good news is that there are lots of fast travel points all over Night City. You can identify them in-game as data terminals around the city. You’ll know them when you see them; they have big holograms floating over them. Fast Travel points are all marked on your map as blue markers, and nine times out of ten, there’s one within a convenient distance of where you need to be.
The bad news about Fast Traveling is that you can’t just do it whenever you want. You can only Fast Travel between Fast Travel terminals; in other words, you have to physically walk up to a terminal, activate it, and select your destination terminal, as opposed to just using it from your own map. Them’s the brakes, pal.
On the bright side, you don’t need to walk up to every Fast Travel terminal to get it added to your map. As you travel around Night City, either on foot or in your car, your map is constantly scanning for waypoints. Whenever a Fast Travel point is in your general vicinity, it’ll be automatically added to your map. Then, if you want to use that point, you can track it on your map. You’ll be guided there by a blue dotted line on your GPS.
More Fast Travel terminals will be added to your map as you explore the city and progress the story, though you can also bum around for a while on your own to get a bunch of them, at least within the parts of the city you’re currently permitted in.
