Mageblood can drop anywhere and it can be acquired by using the Orb of Chance. However, since its drop rate is fairly low, the most efficient way to farm Mageblood is to first farm a divination card called Apothecary. You can acquire this card in the Crimson Temple, Crimson Township, Deflied Cathedral, and Haunted Mansion.

Next, you need to find secret entrances to the Sacred Grove on the maps which will allow you to access Harvest crafting (also called Horticrafting). Killing monsters in Sacred Grove will give you Harvest crafts, which you can then use from your hideout to greatly improve rare items. Once you access Horticrating, you can exchange 5 Apothecary divination cards for 1 Mageblood.

Harvest crafting also allows you to gamble with your divination cards for an extra reward. You can sacrifice half of any divination card stack (including Apothecary) to either lose them all or double the amount you have. If you farm enough Apothecary and are feeling lucky, you can try this technique as well to save up some time. However, it is a risk where you can lose your Apotchecary cards and be at square one.
