How to Equip Skins in XDefiant Beta

XDefiant defying their own Battle Pass

XDefiant has been labelled as the new COD Killer and we all are wondering, could this actually be true? Many Closed Beta, including Call of Duty typically show off the best aspects of the game and strangely feel more polished than when the game finally releases in its Alpha state. But in regard for the XDefiant Closed Beta, the same cannot be said for this game. Whilst many are commending the overall gameplay and feel for the game, with weapon metas already discovered, there is glaring issues already with this Free-to-Play Arena Game. But the question for this article is, can Weapon Skins in XDefiant be equipped? Let us dive in.

Can you Equip Skins in XDefiant?

Since the arrival of the Closed Beta as of April 13th and set to end April 23rd, 2023, players are already reaping in their rewards by grinding both Arena and Linear Quickplay to gain as much XP as possible. XDefiant offers players a set of rewards of both Faction and Gun Skins. This is part of the XDefiant Battle Pass but its rewards are exclusive to the Closed Beta. The problem however is that most players have seen issues when equipping Weapon Skins. With the leading issue being that all Attachments get unlocked when one of these Skins are equipped to your weapon. It is a bizarre coding problem and one that I imagine few people were annoyed with. In fact, this would have been the greatest possible reward you can get in XDefiant and negate the process of grinding in the Closed Beta.

However, Ubisoft have seen this problem and decided to completely remove the Skins in the Closed Beta. The priority is clear, let players grind for Attachments instead of getting this huge short-cut through the rewards. Clearly Ubisoft need to work on this before XDefiant’s full release. But for now, those playing on the Closed Beta will not be able to equip their Weapon Skins in XDefiant.

Will the Skins in XDefiant Pass Over into its Full Release?

Thankfully, everything that you grinded for in the current and free Battle Pass will indeed be available for those who are playing XDefiant when the game releases, likely late 2023. So whilst the Weapon Skins in XDefiant cannot be used at the moment of the Closed Beta, you will be able to equip them as their originally intended purpose and show off to the Greenies that you are an expert at XDefiant because you grinded the Beta. Hopefully at the point of the game’s full release, Ubisoft will have fixed this strange coding issue and make it so players can show off what they worked hard for.

Until then however, the Skins in XDefiant will remain as their default. This article will be updated when the game releases.
