Much like in real-life football, the truly elite players can quickly find their groove in Madden 23. Guys like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes can raise their level of play at any moment to the point where they seem invincible. In Madden 23, this is represented as being “in the zone.” As they seemingly have all of the momentum on their side and appear to be borderline unstoppable.
In this guide, we will explore how to enter the zone in Madden 23.
How to Enter the Zone in Madden 23
In Madden 23, every player with X-Factor abilities can enter the zone, which will then allow you to take advantage of the player’s unique abilities. Although, every X-Factor player comes with a different set of abilities once they’re in the zone, as well as its own list of criteria that must be met to enter the zone and activate the ability.

As a result, the first step is to know what abilities each player will actually have. To check this feature, all you need to do is;
- Navigate over to the NFL icon from the main menu.
- Click on “View Superstar X-Factors” in the pop-up menu provided.
- Scroll and filter through each of the players individually to take a closer look at their abilities.
Reading through each player’s list of abilities will give you a better understanding of how the process works. Here you will also find the specific tasks you must complete to enter the zone and what it takes to be taken out of the zone as well.
During every game in Madden 23, small blurbs will pop up reminding you of a certain player’s X-Factor abilities and how to activate them. The first will appear on the play call screen near the bottom corner opposite of your offensive or defensive playbook. While the second will show up prior to the snap after a play has been selected and all of the players are lined up on the field.
To activate a certain player’s X-Factor ability, you will need to complete particular assignments throughout the game. For example, Tom Brady’s “Pro Reads” ability challenges you to complete three consecutive passes of at least five yards or more through the air.
If you’re able to complete the list of requirements for your player’s X-Factor abilities, then you will enter the zone. At this point, the ability logo will light up to signal that the player’s X-Factor ability is now active.
