How to Enter the Gatehouse in Hogwarts Legacy

In J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, playing Hogwarts Legacy is like revisiting your favorite films and books from your youth. This new videogame that was created by Avalanche Software and is set in and around the fan-favorite Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, is already exceeding what critics were expecting. The plot of Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the late 1800s, and it gives the Harry Potter universe a brand-new perspective by separating itself from the events surrounding the Second Wizarding World. There are plenty of new locations for players to explore, and tons of cameos from the original Harry Potter series to excite returning fans.

Throughout the game, there are plenty of quests and missions that help move the overarching plot along. For one, the High Keep quest, you must break in to a castle known as Falbarton Castle so that you can obtain a letter incriminating two of the game’s main antagonists in a nefarious plot. One of the obstacles that can be difficult to get past is the Gatehouse to this castle. Due to that, we created this guide to help players get past the Falbarton Castle Gatehouse in Hogwarts Legacy.

How Do You Get Past the Gatehouse?

Your first step to getting past the main gate of the High Keep quest is to break into the gatehouse. Make sure that you know the spells Wingardium Leviosa, Depulso and Accio before attempting this quest as they are required spells for this mission. The path that you want to take is frustratingly blocked by a box, so you need to find a way around that. Here is what you will want to do in order to get past that:

• Firstly, you will need to head on over to the dead end that has a window next to it.
• After you are there, cast Wingardium Leviosa to move that troublesome box into the room that you are facing.
• This will clear up the passageway and allow you to enter the room through the original entry.
• After getting into the room, cast the Depulso spell twice on the lever.
• This will reveal a handle that was previously hidden behind the portcullis.
• Cast Accio on this lever to open the main gate and get through into the castle.
• Lastly, remember to use Revelio frequently throughout this journey so that you do not miss any special items or hidden secrets!
