Disbanding Units in Age of Wonders 4
The easiest way to disband units in Age of Wonders 4 is to open that unit in fullscreen and click on the disband button that appears. This button isn’t visible otherwise so keep in mind that you need to use a fullscreen unit overview.
Disbanding units is most often recommended when you wish to add new units to your already full army. Simply disband the weakest ones or the ones that can be easily replaced and put stronger units in their place. This tactic isn’t new and it was often used in the Total War games, where leading large armies was a common thing.
Can You Disband a Hero in Age of Wonders 4?
As you probably know, when you exceed the number of heroes in Age of Wonders 4 you start paying higher upkeep for them. Not many players are fans of this so naturally many were asking whether they can disband their hero.
Unfortunately, there isn’t an option (yet) for disbanding your hero. What you can do as a workaround is send him on a suicide mission where he will simply die to a bigger group of enemies and put you in a position where you won’t have to pay extra coins to keep him in your empire anymore.
