How to Defeat The Strider in The Chant

Chapter 2 of The Chant really is where things kick off for the scary, as this is where Jess follows the game’s first real main antagonist in Sonny, as he heads to the mines in hopes of finding more Prisms to use in order to become more powerful and successful in the eyes of those around him.

After following Sonny into the mines and living through an ambush of cultists and another ambush by Sonny, you’ll be introduced to some truly horrifying underground Gloom creatures, such as Latchers, gigantic bug-like enemies that cry out in ear-piercing fashion.

But once you finally catch Sonny the final time to confront him, he’s a bit tied up. Who’s got him tied up? The Strider of course! But how do you defeat the Strider in The Chant? We’ve got all there is to know about how to kill it!

How to Defeat The Strider in The Chant

The Strider, though looking quite formidable, isn’t going to be the most difficult boss that you’ll go toe to toe with over the course of the game. You’ll definitely want to utilize the dodge button as this boss is quick and hits pretty hard. Make sure to stun it, go in for melee attacks, and slow time with the Stasis Prism Ability.

After you’ve beaten it up a bit, it’ll stop fighting and go over to Sonny to feed. At this point, you won’t be able to damage the Strider. You’ll also have to knock out some of the Latchers that the Strider summons as it feeds. Once you’ve dispatched those Latchers, the Strider will then make its way to attack you again. You’ll repeat the same cycle again, as the Strider feeds and summons more Latchers.

Finally, the Strider will attack you for a final time, only this time it has Sonny attached to it. At this point, it’s more powerful as well as quicker with its attacks. Be sure to really smash the dodge button and get some clean hits in to defeat it. After this, you’ll earn Sonny’s yellow Prism which will give you a new Prism Ability called Crystalize which emits spikes from the ground to impale enemies.
