How to Beat the Ghost King Boss in Dark and Darker?

The Ghost King is a powerful boss that can bring some very interesting items (ranging from purple to unique) once defeated, and that’s why he is the focus of many players. But, in order to defeat him you will need the right strategy.

First things first, don’t try to kill Ghost King solo. Instead go with a team with ideally one Warrior, one Ranger, and one Cleric. Make sure that your Warrior has a secondary ranged weapon so he can help out the Ranger when Ghost King flies and is unreachable with melee attacks.

When you encounter the Ghost King boss, don’t focus on him right away. Go for the two Lava Monsters that are sitting around in the dungeon as they can deal some nasty AoE damage to you and your allies if you keep them alive. You should do this pretty quickly without too much distraction from the Ghost King himself.

Once Lava Monsters are dealt with, go for the boss. Cleric should stay back and focus on healing and buffing the Warrior and Ranger, or himself if he takes the damage. The Ghost King will have a couple of standard attacks that can seem scary but can be played around with.

First thing, he has a move where he slams the ground and bounces all of you in the air. This move can be avoided with a perfectly timed jump when you notice he is going to slam the ground but isn’t vital since the attack itself doesn’t do a lot of damage.

The next thing you should know is that the boss will be jumping around, teleporting and whoever he focuses on will be getting the slow debuff that stacks. These stacks can’t be removed so the name of the game would be to kill him before they get really bad and almost immobilize you all. Remember, the slower you are, the harder it is to avoid his attacks.

Another reason why you should kill him ASAP is that if you fight him long enough, he will start his soul-draining move that just stuns one person while dealing massive damage. Of course, a good cleric will be able to save their teammate from this, but nevertheless, it is a powerful attack that can take your whole team off guard and ruin the strategy.
