Warhammer 40K: Darktide sees you charging down heretical halls as you swing and smash and shoot. Nurgle’s forces will rush towards you, intent on corrupting – or killing – you. Most of the foes aren’t too tough, but there are some enemies that are strong. Real strong. Captain Ulf Horast is one of those trying foes, and an unorganised approach will leave you in pieces. Here is how to defeat Captain Ulf Horast in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
How to beat Captain Ulf Horast in Warhammer 40K: Darktide
Captain Ulf Horast, in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, is a boss that you may encounter on certain missions. The final frontier in your journeys, he will put up a hell of a fight. Taking down one of Nurgle’s captain’s won’t be easy.
His arrival will be announced by himself as he stepped forth to challenge you all. But you won’t just be facing him, but also a cabal of regular enemies. The first thing you will notice is his yellow forcefield as he steps forth into combat.
The first thing you need to know about Captain Ulf Horast is that his forcefield doubles as a weapon. He is able to expel powerful forces that knock everyone back and deal moderate damage, as well as performing his regular strong melee attacks.
To prevent his attacks from dealing too much damage, any ranged players should back off and allow the Zealots or Ogryns of the group to tie the captain up in melee combat. The other enemies must be culled quickly; there won’t be too many of them and they’ll only be a nuisance.
With that, everyone must maintain focused fire or heavy melee strikes at the shield. When it is brought down, players can then use their most powerful attacks and grenades to melt through as much of the captain’s health as they can.
Before long, the shield will go back up. At which point, don’t waste any of your powerful assets on the shield. You all will have to break the shield down again to cause more damage.
It isn’t vital, but incredibly useful for an Ogryn to be on the team during a Captain Ulf Horast fight, as they can really soak up the hits done by the boss, leaving the other players safe. If you aren’t careful, the captain will slice you to shreds as the horde separates you all.
Only after a focused and coordinated assault will the captain die, at which point, the mission will be complete.
