The new Destiny 2 Season 11 Season of Arrivals is finally upon us. This new season has brought a new type of Engrams into the game. You may be wondering what you need to do to decode these strange Umbral Engrams, but we got you covered. In this guide, we will show you how to decode Umbral Engrams in Destiny 2.

How to Decode Umbral Engrams in Destiny 2

First, you will have to play through a quest called In the Face of Darkness. Head over to the Drifter when you return to the tower with Eris. He will ask you to use an item, Seed of Silver Wings, to complete a public event. 

You can find the public event called Contact on Io. Make your way over there from Lost Oasis, where you will have to destroy enemies, collect their motes, and deposit them into the bank.

After completely charging up the bank with motes, a new strong wave of enemies will spawn. You will need to make sure to charge the bank within the three-minute time frame for each level.

After completing the event, you will receive an Umbral Engram and then need to return to the Drifter. He will send you over to use his Umbral Decoder next to him. That’s where you can decode Umbral Engrams in Destiny 2.
