As Bio Prototype’s entire premise is on the basis of mutations of organisms and the like, it makes sense that there’s a lot of jargon that’s thrown around. But it can definitely be confusing at times. As you play the game, you’re going to research more and more Organs that you can use in order to make your character, the Prototype, much stronger.

In fact, not only can Organs give your Prototype special attacks, and passive abilities, but you can also unlock new Prototypes altogether, with their own sets of strengths and weaknesses. In order to get any of this though, you’re going to need to continuously play the game and learn as you go, unlocking both Organs and Prototypes along the way.

Prototypes are permanent creatures that you’ll be able to use over and over, even after failing your research (runs). Organs, however, are only stored for as long as you’re alive. So if you die, you’ll need to acquire them again, but you’ll at least keep your research on them regardless.

Over the course of the various waves you’ll fight in Bio Prototype, you’ll want to pick up the various Cells, as these are a type of XP that can be used in order to evolve your current run’s Prototype. Organs are given out to you every time you either complete a wave or you evolve. There are dozens of Organs that you’ll be able to use over the course of the many waves you’ll face.

It’s important to note that you’ll want to implant any Organs you’re given with a circle symbol before ones with a diamond, otherwise, the connection won’t work. Making sure Organs are compatible can also give you even stronger abilities. You can check if Organs are compatible through their details.

Organs can decay over time with use if they are far from the brain, so be mindful of their health between waves. You can swap Organs around your body between waves via the Mutations screen. Additionally, you can recycle Organs you don’t want for more Cells.
