What Materials You Will Need

Once a villager gets turned into a zombie, they can easily be turned back. Turning a zombified villager back into a villager is an incredibly easy process, the only items needed to turn a zombie back into a villager are:

  • 1 Splash Potion of Weakness
  • 1 Golden apple

That’s all you’ll need! Gathering the ingredients is the easy part, the hard part will be capturing one of the zombie villagers.

What’s the Process for Curing a Zombi Villager

After the ingredients have been gathered, you’ll need to hunt down and capture your zombie villager. It’s incredibly important that the zombie villager is contained in a protective structure while he is cured – as soon as the zombie turns back into a villager, he will be extremely vulnerable to other zombies. If a zombie manages to get to the villager, the villager will become zombified again, and you’ll need to start the whole process over. To capture a zombie villager, you’ll need to:

  • Locate a zombie villager. They can spawn naturally at night depending on the game’s difficulty, or you can hang outside a village at night and just wait for the inevitable.
  • Lure the zombie villager away from any other mobs, especially zombies, and keep it contained in an inaccessible structure out of the sunlight.
    • If you caught your zombie villager near a village, make sure there aren’t any iron golems nearby with grudges against zombies.
  • Throw the Splash Potion of Weakness on the zombie, and make sure you see the spirals emanating from it before you use the Golden Apple.
  • Feed the weakened zombie the Golden Apple. It should begin to shake after a few moments.
  • After a couple of minutes, the zombie should transform back into a villager.

If you’d like your villager to have a specific job class once it’s been cured, try putting down the structure associative with the job class you’d like it to have before it’s cured. For example, if you’d like your villager to be a cleric, place a brewing stand near him before he’s cured. Once the zombie transforms back into a villager, if he has access to both a bed and the brewing stand, his job class will change to cleric.

Zombie villagers can be annoying as enemies, but once they’re cured, they become gold mines. The possibilities for zombie villagers are endless!

Curing villagers and starting your own villager farm is a great way to keep Minecraft interesting.
