Gameloft’s long-awaited Disney life-sim title, Disney Dreamlight Valley is here and comes with it a fantastical world of intrigue and imagination. One such area where the game encourages players to take creativity and uniqueness to the next level is through its hefty character customization.
With streamlined options across both your character’s features as well as their wardrobe, there’s a ton to get involved with in this colorful, cartoony world. Today, we’ll explain how character customization works in Disney Dreamlight Valley so that you can get started on your own adventure into the Valley!
How to Create a Character in Disney Dreamlight Valley
One of the very first things you’ll do in Disney Dreamlight Valley is to create your character’s physical appearance. There are a lot of options that the game gives you, allowing players to make their character as close to themselves as they like or as different from themselves as they’d like. There are 9 categories that make up the physical appearance options; eyes, brows, nose, mouth, jaw, hairstyle, body, face paint, and facial hair.
Most of these options allow you to choose the style of how they look as well as the color. Additionally, some of these features also have areas for you to play around with make-up so that you can take your creativity even further. It’s a robust yet simple set of sliders and settings which encourages every level of player to try things out.
There are two body types to choose from, each of which has its own sort of save slot that you can play around with and works independently from the other. Disney Dreamlight Valley is a very gender-inclusive game that refreshingly offers players the chance to let their character be the best representation of who they want them to be, without any gender barriers.
Even after initially creating your character, you can always access these features to adjust via the Wardrobe screen in-game. You’re also able to change your character’s clothes at any time from this screen as well. Whether found in the wild, purchased, or gifted, all clothing items appear here, and too are not held to a specific gender. Clothing item categories include; companions, hats, masks, glasses, earrings, neckwear, coats, tops, back, bracelets, gloves, pants, shorts, skirts, hose socks, shoes, dresses, and costumes.
Lastly, you can create your very own clothing designs using the Customize option from the Wardrobe screen if you really want to go far into your Disney-inspired creativity. Throughout the Wardrobe screen, whether in Customization or not, you’ll be able to turn your character or zoom in and out for viewing as well as hit undo or undo all to reset what you last did or everything from your current menu session altogether.
That’s all there is to know about how to create a character in Disney Dreamlight Valley!
