The Dime Magazine Cover quest vaguely explains how you will need to “help out a local business by doing standard photo or selfie daily quests” in The City. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as just taking random selfies around The City, and little else is provided on the matter.

In order to complete the Dime Magazine Cover quest in NBA 2K23, you need to take photos in front of select stores. This means that if just take random pictures or selfies in front of random shops, then it won’t count towards your completion of the quest.
To find the correct stores, you need to check your map for the yellow camera icons and travel to each of their respective locations. Once there, simply snap a selfie or take a picture of the store. Keep in mind that new yellow camera icons will appear daily, so you’ll want to check back in every once in a while to see if there are any new camera icons.
You can take a selfie by pressing left on the D-Pad to pull out your phone and then selecting the camera icon. Then, with the camera now up, you can take a standard photo or press RB (for Xbox) or R1 (for PlayStation) to switch over to the selfie mode.
