How to change party members in Baldur’s Gate 3

To change party members in Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to select the option to go to your camp. You can find the Camp option on your screen’s top right next to the minimap, with the campfire icon.

When you’re at camp, you can talk to any of your party members and dismiss them to bring on someone new. Open up a dialogue and select the option to journey separately for now. You can always have them rejoin your party at a later time if they are still hanging around in your camp. Next, you can choose to speak with the character you want in your party and invite them to join you.

When you encounter new characters in the world, you can choose to have them join you immediately, if you have a party slot available. Otherwise, you can tell them to go hang out in your camp and talk to them at a later time. Doing this can be a good idea if you have no immediate use for a given character or are looking for a specific class.

While in camp, you can also take a long rest, so everyone in your party can regain their health. Now it’s time to start exploring to find some worthy adventurers for your group. Good luck!
