How to Change Nations in Gloria Victis

Time to jump ship.

A certain person once said that history is written by winners. If you’re not on the side that wins a conflict, you’re either vilified, forgotten about, or dead. If you’re not too hung up on the concept of loyalty, sometimes it’s better to jump ship before you end up going down with it. Here’s how to change nations in Gloria Victis.

How to Change Nations in Gloria Victis

Gloria Victis’ PvP system is designed to give every player a chance at success. As part of this, the game utilizes the Nation and Underdog systems. In the event the Nation you’re fighting for isn’t doing so hot, you can switch sides and fight under another banner. However, there are rules to this process.

First and foremost, in order to give every player enough time to find the Nation that gels best with them, you can freely swap between Nations whenever you want until you hit level 50. After level 50, you get one more free Nation swap until you’re level 70, after which you’re locked in. Well, mostly locked in.

Outside of the free pre-50 swaps, the only way to change your Nation is to use either the Mercenary Recruiter NPC or a Nation Change Scroll. The Mercenary Recruiter appears near the Logistician of a normal Nation whenever another Nation is flagged as an Underdog. In this case, you can talk with the Mercenary Recruiter to transfer your account over to the Underdog Nation for free.

In the event the Nation you’re in becomes an Underdog, leaving gets a bit trickier. You won’t be able to use the Mercenary Recruiter, but you can still bail out by using a Nation Change Scroll. These Scrolls can be purchased from the Supporter Shop with Ambers or from the Glory Quartermaster with Contribution Points. The only rule to using a Nation Change Scroll is that you can’t transfer into a Nation that’s currently flagged as a Superpower, meaning they’re actively dominating the two other Nations. Beyond that, you can transfer into any un-flagged or Underdog Nation.

Remember that joining Underdog Nations will increase the amount of money and XP you earn, all while helping out a weaker Nation. It’s a win-win for everyone involved!
