How to Catch Shiny Eevee in Pokémon GO

A Shiny Eevee, a Shiny Life.

Eevee is a well-known and beloved first generation Pokémon, who has monopolized user’s interest for quite some years. Not only because of its furry nature and cuteness (look at that face!) but because Eevee has eight different evolutions: Sylveon, Umbreon, Espeon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon, and Glaceon. Talk about range! Anyway, of course, you are able to catch Eeeve in Pokémon GO pretty much everywhere, but what about its shiny variant? Well, that’s a whole other story. Here is how to catch a Shiny Eevee in Pokémon GO.

How to Catch Shiny Eevee in Pokémon GO

You see, just as in the main Pokémon games, shiny Pokémon are extremely rare variants of normal Pokémon that vary in color, with no other change stat-wise. In the case of Eeeve, the rarity of a shiny spawn is 1 every 500. Yikes. There are some things you can do to spawn more Pokémon like the use of Incense that will increase Pokémon spawns around the player or Lure Modules around PokéStops. These don’t alter the spawn rate, but if more Pokémon spawn, then you can possibly have a shiny Pokémon spawn faster, like a Shiny Eevee.

Eevee Spotlight Hour (March 7, 2023)

Specific Pokémon during every Tuesday from 6 pm to 7 pm (local time) will take the main role during the Spotlight Hour. This is a mechanic in which during one hour, said Pokémon will have an increased spawn rate in the wild, along with some type of bonus for Candy, XP, or Stardust. On March 7, 2023, it is Eevee’s turn! And while, again, the shiny spawn rate remains the same, more Eevees translates to a faster shiny yield. Here is the table for the next Featured Pokémon during Spotlight Hour, 2023:

How to Get all Eevee Evolutions

And well, since we are talking Eevee, it would be a complete failure if I didn’t include how to evolve Eevee into all its possible evolution variants. Thankfully, it is quite easy to do, since all you have to do is to give Eevee a specific nickname, and when it is time to evolve, it will evolve accordingly to the Pokémon that nickname made reference to. Here is another table for you to pick your Eevee evolution.

And that’s all Eevee for you! Make sure to make the best out of the Spotlight Hour if you get to read this article in time. Otherwise, use the other spawn methods to increase the chance to get a Shiny Eevee in your collection. In general, I wish you extremely good luck, since, well, you are going to need it.
