Butterflies typically spawn around flowers, so that’s likely where you will find the Great Purple Emperor butterfly on your island. What you want to be looking for is a purple, yellow, and black colored butterfly. From our experience, it is not a very rare butterfly so you should not have a problem catching it.
You don’t have to worry about the Great Purple Emperor flying away on you. To catch it, all you need to do is have it in range of your bug net. Some general tips for finding this butterfly are just to keep an eye out near your flowers.
The more flowers you have on your island, the greater chance you will have to spawn these butterflies. Again, remember there is no way to scare the butterfly away so you don’t have to worry about sneaking up to them. Make sure you are hunting for it during the appropriate months and time of day.
