The Blue Marlin is a rare fish that can fetch a lot of Bells if you know where to catch it. It’s only available during specific months, and when April is over you’ll have to wait a while before you can get your hands on one again. This guide explores how to catch Blue Marlin in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
How to Catch Blue Marlin in Animal Crossing New Horizons
You can expect to see Blue Marlin during the months of November through April and July through September in the Northern Hemisphere region. There is no specific time of day you need to worry about because it swims around all day and night.
- Northern Hemisphere Time of Year: November – April, July – September
- Southern Hemisphere Time of Year: May – October, January – March
- Active Hours: All Day
- Price: 10,000 Bells
- Location: Pier
- Shadow: Largest (Size 6)
Look out for a large shadow in the water near the pier. It’s a bit larger than the Sea Bass that love to show up all the time. You’re not guaranteed to see a Blue Marlin, but we have some tips and tricks to increase your odds of seeing one.
First, if you time travel you may want to head to the pier on a sunny day before 4 PM in December. During this time there will be the least competition between other fish.
If you don’t time travel, make sure you chase away all of the smaller shadow fish from the area. Fishing bait can also be used to spawn the fish more quickly. Again, you can fish at the pier before 4 PM for less competition.
I hope this guide helped teach you how to catch a Blue Marlin in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Good luck!
