Here’s a look at King Salmon’s seasonality, active hours, and location.

  • Fish: King Salmon
  • Northern Hemisphere Seasonality: September
  • Southern Hemisphere Seasonality: March
  • Active Hours: All Day
  • Location: River (mouth)
  • Shadow Size: Extra Large

To catch a King Salmon, you have to fish at the mouth of any river on an island. If you’re not sure, this is where the river leads out into the ocean. Be on the lookout for an extra-large shadow size swimming around.

You don’t need to worry much about the time of day, because it’s available all day long. Depending on your Hemisphere, it’s available in either September (Northern) or March (Southern) like the other salmon in the game.

You can force the correct size shadow to spawn if you’re on a Nook Island. There’s a good chance you catch a lot of ordinary Salmon while looking for this particular fish. They all share similar seasonality and spawn times. Other than that, you can use the information above to know the time and location. Nothing special needs to be done to catch one. It’s just a matter of getting the right shadow size.
