  • Bug: Giant Cicada
  • Location: Trees
  • Months: July and August (Northern Hemisphere)
  • Time: 8 am – 5 pm

All of the Cicadas make noise when you get near them, so you can easily tell if they are nearby. There are four different types of Cicadas, including Brown, Robust, Giant, and Evening Cicadas. There is the Cicada Shell, which we have a guide for as well if you want to figure out how to catch that one.

When looking for a Giant Cicada, you need to make sure you’re looking in the middle of the day during July or August for the Northern Hemisphere. You will notice the Giant Cicada hanging out on the sides of trees. Listen to the buzzing noise it makes for a clue.

There is no unique trick or tip to catch one of these. All you need to do is go around your island and check around the trees for a giant bug hanging out on them. When you find one, approach it slowly and swing your net at it when you are in range. That’s all there is to it!
