There really isn’t another modern indie-darling that scratches the same itch as the 2021 hit, Tunic. With a sort of Zelda feeling to it all, there’s a sense of familiarity in the gameplay and even the world as a whole as players trek through its mysterious dungeons. Though the game can be a pretty relaxing experience overall, there is a lot of combat and even some puzzles to solve as well which add layers of difficulty to its runtime.
One such enemy encounter that’s left players scratching their heads takes place in a location called the Cathedral, more specifically the Statue Room, giving them a real run for their money. Today, we’ll take a deep dive into the Cathedral and explain how you can beat that dastardly battle in the Statue Room. Let’s talk about how to do it!
How to Beat the Statue Room in the Cathedral in Tunic
The Statue Room battle set within the Cathedral is a pretty challenging semi-boss rush that’ll have you fighting off quite a few waves of enemies as you go. There are various types of them as well, with a handful of common ones you already encountered, leading up to the main big baddies, the Garden Knight bosses.

Getting Started
When it comes to getting things started, each battle is done when you’ve activated the statue that corresponds with it. Follow our order of operations and you’ll be well on your way to beating this dungeon!
Garden Knights
It’s actually a good idea to begin with the Garden Knights as they are the hardest, so it’s best to just get it out of the way. There are also two to fight during your bout so be weary of getting one out and then focusing on the next. You can try stunning them by spamming the Magic orb. It works like a charm.
Fairies
Your next choice should be to take on the Fairies and use the Magic Rod against them. These are easy to kill from a distance and don’t really put up too much of a fight as compared to the Garden Knights you would’ve gone up against before.
Skeletons
The third enemy you should try to tackle is going to be the Skeletons which you can kill with a gun, just try to get them to group up as it’s much easier to take them all out at once.
Custodians
Those will be followed by the Custodians that you can easily kill as long as you’re quick on your feet and utilize the Magic Rod for attacks as well as charging them.
Frogs
The fifth and sixth enemies you’ll want to fight are the Frogs and the Guards. Frogs should be killed from smallest to biggest as the smaller ones are quite a nuisance.
Guards
The Guards can easily be killed though can overtake you if many spawn. It’s a best practice to kill the spawning ones first.
That’s all there is to it! There are quite a few enemies to take out in order to get past that Statue Room, but that’s how you can beat it! Be sure to check out some of our other coverage of Tunic as well!
