Introducing mechanics to the game and make the player decide their best play style in a natural and cohesive way is something few have accomplished. It is often alienating when you are thrown in the middle of a mission or setting, and you are left on your own, wondering what to do. The worst part is when that is not a game design decision, but a poor concept of balance. You don’t need a game to tell you frequently what to do or how to do it, either. The best sensation is when you feel a sense of direction, but you also feel under control. I believe that is what Frozen Flame accomplishes with this introductory mission. How to Beat the Skull Hunter
The Skull Hunter is probably the hardest of the bunch during the Search for the Keeper mission. He uses a bow and arrow and hits really hard, and it is very easy to get distracted and knocked out. And by knocked out, I mean killed. Anyway, just like with the other mini-bosses, wear clothes in order to ensure extra protection. I also recommend trying to cook several recipes in advance in order to heal during the battle. You will probably need those in order to beat the Skull Hunter.
Beforehand, I would recommend crafting both a Stone Sword and a Wooden Bow as well. The Skull Hunter will spawn at the second level of the ruins. He will have the high ground, so if you don’t remember the tragic tale of a certain member of the Skywalker family, don’t precipitate and lose your limbs. There is a small column in the middle of the ground, you can use it for protection and to counter the attacks of the Hunter by shooting arrows yourself. I recommend getting rid of its minions first, since they can get specially annoying. You could do this until you defeat the Skull Hunter, but if he decides to go to ground level, you can deal a decent amount of damage by using your Stone Sword. Do it carefully, timing its shots and also dodging when necessary. You will defeat the Skull Hunter in no time.
