The secret boss in Cuphead DLC features the Devil and the Angel. However, before you can defeat the secret boss, you will first need to unlock the secret boss fight. Which can be done by completing the following steps:

  1. Buy a Broken Relic – These can be purchased for one coin from Porkrind’s Emporium.
  2. Go to the graveyard – The graveyard can be found near the bottom of the map, next to The Howling Aces boss fight. You will want to take the secret path to the left of the winners’ stand in town. This way you can reach your destination without having to fight any other bosses first.
  3. Solve the tombstone puzzle – Near the winners’ stand, be sure to look for clues that can help you figure out how to activate the correct trio of tombstones. Once you’ve solved the puzzle and tapped on all three spots correctly, the center tombstone will begin to glow. You will then be asked to “take a nap” and if you choose yes, you will enter a dream-like state, where the secret boss battle will take place.

Even though the fight is only one phase, it’s still rather challenging. Here are a couple of tips to help you defeat the secret Devil and Angel boss:

  • Only the devil can harm you – The angel and the devil swap sides every time you change directions, with the devil always in front of you and the angel behind you. However, while both spit projectiles, it’s only the devil’s fireballs that can deal damage. So, the best thing you can do is to focus on avoiding the devil, since the angel’s bubbles are harmless.
  • Watch out for the beam of energy – Periodically a beam of energy will move across the screen, despite being harmless when you’re facing the devil, if you look away then it becomes a column of flames. So, you will need to either ride the moving cloud or stand still and let it pass by to dodge it.
  • Avoid the moving cloud – While you can ride the moving cloud to help you avoid the flames, you should never stand directly underneath it. Since lightning could strike at any moment, which can deal a significant amount of damage.

After you’ve defeated the secret boss, you will receive the “What A Horrible Night to Have A Curse” achievement/trophy.
