If there’s one thing that players of Scars Above can be sure of, it’s the fact that there are going to be droves of grotesque and horrifying alien enemies for them to fend off. But starting out the game’s numerous boss battles is one against a rhino-like enemy called the Goliath Alpha; a formidable foe with quite a bit of strength on its side. How to Beat the Goliath Alpha Boss in Scars Above

Once you enter the boss battle with the Goliath Alpha, you’ll notice that it more or less looks just like a beefed-up version of the other Goliaths that you were introduced to before getting your new Cryo Launcher weapon. And just like with those other Goliaths, the Goliath Alpha is pretty much going to be a similar fight as with its offspring, as it moves and attacks in a similar fashion.

The biggest difference with the fight against the Goliath Alpha is going to be the fact that you now have the Cryo Launcher which you can use to slow the beast down. What you’ll want to do is use the Cryo Launcher as often as possible since it slows down and totally freezes the Alpha for a short duration, allowing you to shoot it with the Vera or Thermic Charger.

While slowing it to a freeze when the weak point in its chest is open for attacks will make the fight fly by quicker, hitting it anywhere and not waiting for that short window will serve you better. Its attacks are quick and hard, so make sure you are utilizing the dodge and sprint mechanics to keep away from it, as it doesn’t move very fast at all.
