Mega Blaziken

Mega Blaziken is a fire/fighting type Pokémon that is very effective against the legend. It has high DPS potential with Fire Spin and Blast Burn. It’s an excellent choice for dealing heavy damage during Cobalion raids. Although, you should be wary about Zen-Headbutt since it is a Psychic move and will significantly damage Mega Blaziken.

Mega Charizard (Y or X)

Mega Charizard is a fire and flying Pokémon that excels against Cobalion. Cobalion’s attacks do normal damage to Mega Charizard except Stone Edge. Switch Mega Charizard as soon as Cobalion winds up for Stone Edge, or if unavoidable, dodge the attack by swiping left or right to mitigate some damage.

Mega Houndoom

Mega Houndoom’s Fire Fang and Flamethrower deal massive damage to Cobalion, making it easy for your raid team to whittle down the boss’s massive health bar. Although Mega Houndoom can tank a few hits from Double Kick, it won’t survive Close Combat or Stone Edge for long. Switch to another Pokémon or dodge the move to lessen the damage.

These Pokémon are all effective against Cobalion because of their strengthened Fire attacks. You can also bring Mega Swampert, Lopunny, or Alakazam as optional Pokémon whenever any of these three gets KO’d. They can hold their own while you revive your main damage dealers.
