Dodging is your Best Friend

The Chaos Spawn reminds me of the Berzerker in Gears of War. Although this enemy has its eyes intact in order to see you and your teammates, its real power lies in its actual attack. Because of this, it has a smaller health pool. Whilst we cannot specifically state the exact amount of hits you will need to use against the Chaos Spawn, the main tip we can offer is to keep a good distance away from this enemy. Whilst its moves are primarily charging at players, you best get gud with dodging in this game. Of course, this requires timing however, opting for blocking rather than dodging will leave you completely open to attacks. Luckily Chaos Spawn really just charging and hones in after one player at a time. This can mean that whoever is being chased should act as bait and not expose themselves to attacks whilst the remaining squad mates put in the damage to take Chaos Spawn down.

Any moves related to the Chaos Spawn’s tentacles should be dodged as blocking is no longer a viable option. For this reason, it is best to get into the habit of dodging everything the Chaos throws at you. Whilst smaller, standard moves such as slashes and slams where their damage can be noted by the impact visual animation that appears on screen, you should try to move and dodge Chaos instead of trying to get in damage if the enemy selects you to attack. Because Chaos Spawn really just focusses on one player at a time, use this to your advantage and get in the damage when the focus is off you.

Take Turns to Deal Damage

Keep in mind that Chaos Spawn will not be the only enemy you are fighting. This is not a secluded fight like William Birkin in Resident Evil 2, rather whilst you are mid-fight other enemies will join the fold to help Chaos Spawn. In teams of 4 we recommend that there is a designated player who covers others and takes on the smaller enemies on the Map. This will leave you and your teammates clear from taking any unnecessary damage.

What Weapons to Use?

Our weapons of recommendation are the Boltgun and Plasma Gun. Whilst the Chaos Spawn will charge at enemies with arms swinging, you need to make sure that you are not too close to get caught by Chaos. Within very little hits your life can quickly be taken away from you by the enemy. For this reason, you will want to utilize either environmental obstacles to get Chaos stuck behind or as a last resort, other players as obstacles for the enemy to focus in on. You will want to keep your teammates close to you at all times and never overextend to the Chaos Spawn or fall behind fighting other enemies. This fight really requires good teamwork to survive and decent dodging skills to survive the attacks.
