Annexing Ancient Wonder in Age of Wonders 4 Explained
You can annex an Ancient Wonder by having a city next to it. If you don’t have a city nearby click on your hero, select the province button and place the outpost in the province next to the one where the Ancient Wonder is. Turn your outpost into a city and when it gets enough population it will be able to annex the province next to it and Ancient Wonder in it. Cities have their annex range and when they level up that range increases.
Remember however that you need to defeat the army guarding the Ancient Wonder first. The enemies there will be themed according to the Ancient Wonder and are connected to the game’s lore. These won’t always be easy to beat so be prepared every time you decide to go into an Ancient Wonder.
Some of the rewards you can expect for annexing Ancient Wonders are huge amounts of resources, Imerium, unique units called Rally of the Lieges, and some smaller unique bonuses.
