How long does it take to beat sonic frontiers? Full game length explained

All the time in the world when you're the fastest

One of the most enticing parts of an open-world game is you can spend hours and hours getting lost in the secrets and landscapes of it all. Sonic Frontiers seems to really be no different. Frontiers has a decent length for its story mode. Apparently, it also has a collect-athon level to rival any other platformer of its ilk. So with all that in mind, surely you want to know how long it takes with no-nonsense and frills to slow you down for you speed runners. For you completionists we got you covered too. Here’s how long it takes to beat Sonic Frontiers, and then some.

How Long to Beat Story Mode

For those who just want to burn through Frontiers as fast as you can just to see if you can, story mode seems to take roughly 10 hours if you’re just blistering through. For a more casual approach where you’re still exploring and taking your time but still very story-mode focused, it’s more like 15, maybe even 20 hours if you want to stretch it out.

The game is divided into 4 main islands and riddled with dozens of hidden obstacle course levels as well. Because of the separate islands, many people are calling the game more of an “open zone” game where each section is still ‘explore at your own pace’ and nonlinear, but you still have to slowly gain the opportunity to travel to each island to continue the game’s story.

How Long to Complete the Game

If your goal is more to complete the game; finishing obstacle course levels, completing the map all the way, collecting all the rings, and everything else Frontiers has to offer, many players seem to calculate closer to anywhere between 30 and 50 hours.

There is thankfully lots to do in Frontiers. You’ll never truly feel bored. The landscapes are beautiful if not a bit more realistic than most beloved Sonic games. If you have a true desire to explore and collect then you’ll have no shortage of time.
