Psyduck Down is, thankfully, very easy to get and can be obtained very early in the game. Use this guide if you’re having trouble collecting Psyduck Down in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
How Do You Get Psyduck Down in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Psyduck Down is an item that is dropped after you defeat or capture a wild Psyduck in the game. Psyduck Down is a Pokémon-dropped item that has a couple of uses, but mainly it’s used for making TMs at the TM Machine. Thankfully Psyduck Down is free but you do have to work for it if you want to collect a lot of it; follow these steps if you want to get Psyduck Down in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:
- Locate one or more wild Psyduck.
- They can usually be found wandering around bodies of water, so if you’re having trouble locating some, check near rivers, ponds, or beaches.
- Challenge the Psyduck to a battle.
- Psyduck is a Water-type Pokémon, so try to bring Electric-type or Grass-type Pokémon with you when you go to battle one.
- Once you’ve got its health down low enough, you can choose to either catch it or defeat it. You’ll get the Psyduck Down regardless, so it’s up to you whether you want a Psyduck on your team or not.
- Once the Psyduck is defeated (or captured), the Psyduck Down should automatically be added to your inventory. Repeat this process to get more.

What is Psyduck Down Used for in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
You can use your Psyduck Down for two things in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: making TMs and exchanging for League Points. League Points, or LP, can be used to make TMs or they can be used as currency at many in-game shops. Valuable TMs like Psybeam can also be crafted from a mixture of League Points and Psyduck Down at the TM Machine.
If you have more Psyduck Down than you know what to do with and you already have enough TMs, you should definitely consider exchanging some of your collection for League Points. League Points can be used nearly everywhere in the game, and they can come in really handy if you’re running low on actual cash.
