How Battle Mode Differs From Ranked Mode in Marvel Snap

Battle Mode is meant to be a competitive mode in Marvel Snap with an alternate set of rules. According to Associate Design Director Kent-Erik Hagman, “It’s the most fun, competitive way to play MARVEL SNAP.” What sets it apart from Ranked Mode is that it features a compeltely different set of rules and doesn’t appear to have a ranking system. Ranked Mode allows players to compete against one another in regular matches and move up the game’s leaderboard.

In Battle Mode, both players will start with only 10 health. The first player to have their health depleted loses. This means that each move a player makes will be important and could change the entire match. Every move counts. Hagman describes the philosophy behind the mode on the game’s official website: “When coming up with a more competitive, head-to-head format for MARVEL SNAP, it was critical to us that we kept the ability to bluff and tactically retreat. If anything, it was important we bring those elements to the forefront.”

Battle Mode is now available in the latest update to Marvel Snap.
