Hogwarts Legacy – Should I Tell Sebastian the Truth or Lie?

Hogwarts Legacy is one of those games that you know you’ll love within the first few minutes of its rich, immersive gameplay. Based in the Wizarding World that was originally created by J.K. Rowling, this game boasts beautiful graphics and an almost revolutionary combat system. Gamers will be able to learn almost two dozen spells as they take lessons in Hogwarts classes, discover potion recipes and even tame magical beasts which can be kept in a Vivarium. Avalanche Software has truly released a game that will be the talk of the town for years to come.

One of the most interesting parts of this RPG game is the relationships players can have with its NPCs and other main characters. These other Hogwarts students, as well as some Professors, can teach you some things about how the Wizarding World works, including unlocking you spells or other secrets. Sebastian Sallow, a Slytherin student, is someone who can teach you the Unforgivable curses in this game.

Should You Lie to Sebastian or Not?

In the Shadow of the Undercroft quest, you have a decision as to whether you want to lie to Sebastian or tell him the truth. However, some of the choices that you make in Hogwarts Legacy can impact the way the rest of your playthrough functions, including its ending and the achievements you can earn. Therefore, players are wondering whether to trust Sebastian with the truth or if they should lie to him.

In short, the answer is that it may not matter at all. However, just to be sure, you should tell Sebastian the truth if you plan to try and learn the Unforgivable curses in Hogwarts Legacy. If those evil spells don’t interest you, then it does not matter how you answer him – and even if you do want to know them, it isn’t quite clear whether this can stop him from teaching you the spells further down the line.
