Hogwarts Legacy – Can You Go Back to the Restricted Section of the Library?

Thankfully, you won't lose house points if you need to grab another book or two from the restricted section.

Avalanche Software have made sure that players can explore the world of Hogwarts Legacy with little restriction. However there will be certain points during story quests where certain areas will be under lockdown. One of these missions players will experience early on is the “Secrets of the Restricted Section“. Where you are tasked with joining fellow classmate Sebastian Sallow and exploring the restricted section of the Library without getting caught. There are a myriad of obstacles along the way. From the librarian, to ghosts, to even Peeves. Because this area is typically off limits to students in the wizarding world, players have wondered if they are able to return after completing the quest. We’re going to answer the question: can you go back to the restricted section of the Library?

This questline in particular will also unlock the Disillusionment spell, as well as serve as a tutorial of sorts for the stealth gameplay. You’ll find yourself going through a secret part of the restricted section, and eventually coming across an ancient magic spot. Completing the trials thrown at you and finishing up the quest and cutscenes will place you by the front of the restricted section.

After players have completed this mission, you will be able to visit the restricted section whenever you would like. With the added benefit of not having to sneak past anyone to grab any collectables. It might be a bit immersion breaking for some people who enjoy the idea of there being persistent consequences to your actions. But at the end of the day, no one is going to enjoy getting caught by Peeves for the 10th time as you enter the restricted section trying to grab an item. You should have no issues with this regardless of the time of day in game.
