Halo Infinite Multiplayer Game Modes Explained

Learn about all of the new Halo Infinite Multiplayer game modes and maps.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer is out, and it’s packed with tons of excellent maps and game modes. At the moment, players can enjoy three different playlists, seven different game modes, and ten maps. Let’s dive into all of the Halo Infinite Multiplayer Game Modes.

Below you can find and filter through all of the current game modes and maps.

One Flag CTF

Maps: Launch Site

Playlists: Quick Play

One Flag CTF is an attack/defense variation of the regular CTF mode. Only one team will defend a flag at a time while the other team attempts to get it. After the round is complete, teams will alternate.

Halo One Flag CTF

CTF (Capture the Flag)

Maps: Aquarius, Bazaar, Behemoth, Fragmentation (BTB), Deadlock (BTB), Highpower (CTF)

Playlists: Quick Play, Big Team Battle, Ranked

The standard Capture the Flag mode. Get the other team’s flag and return it to your base while defending your own. On the 4v4 modes, your flag must be at your base to score; however, in the Big Team Battle mode, you can score while your flag is taken.

Halo CTF

Strongholds

Maps: Streets, Recharge, Live Fire

Playlists: Quick Play, Ranked

In Stronghold, you will fight over the control of three points. Control two or more, and your team will begin to accumulate points. Hold the points long enough, and you win.

Halo Strongholds

Oddball

Maps: Streets, Recharge, Live Fire

Playlists: Quick Play, Ranked

In Oddball, a skull will spawn in the middle of the map. A player on your team must hold the skull in order to accumulate points. Get enough points, and you win. Players holding the skull cannot fire a weapon but can still perform a melee attack.

Halo Oddball

Slayer

Maps: Streets, Recharge, Live Fire, Launch Site, Behemoth, Bazaar, Aquarius, Fragmentation (BTB), Deadlock (BTB), Highpower (BTB)

Playlists: Quick Play, Big Team Battle, Ranked

Slayer is a good old-fashioned Team Deathmatch mode. First to 50 kills in a 4v4 wins and first to 100 kills in BTB wins.

Halo Slayer

Total Control

Maps: Fragmentation (BTB), Deadlock (BTB), Highpower (BTB)

Playlists: Big Team Battle

A variation of Stronghold, Total Control is a BTB exclusive mode. Teams must hold all 3 points simultaneously to win. After scoring, the points are reset in various locations.

Halo Total Control

Stockpile

Maps: Fragmentation (BTB), Deadlock (BTB), Highpower (BTB)

Playlists: Big Team Battle

Stockpile is another BTB exclusive mode. In stockpile, power seeds will spawn around the map. Your team must acquire and deliver five seeds back to your base to score.
