Microsoft and 343 Industries launched the free-to-play Halo Infinite multiplayer on Monday, November 15, during the Xbox 20th Anniversary Event. While it is free to download and play, players have the option to kick things up a notch with the premium Battle Pass. Many players are wondering, is the Halo Infinite battle pass is worth it? We’re here to give you a rundown of what’s included so you can answer that question for yourself.
First, how do you buy the Halo Infinite Battle Pass? You can buy the battle pass with Halo’s in-game currency: Credits. Head over to the shop and find the Season 1 Heroes of Reach card. Select the Upgrade to Premium option to pick up the premium Battle Pass. The premium Battle Pass will run you 1,000 Credits (~$9.99 USD), but you also have the option to upgrade to the Premium Pass Bundle for 2,800 Credits.
Is the Halo Infinite Battle Pass Worth it?
The Halo Infinite premium Battle Pass allows players to unlock over 100 unique rewards worth over 10,000 Credits. Players who pick up the pass will also receive Double XP Boosts, Challenge Swaps, and one additional Challenge slot to earn progress quicker.
If you opt to up your purchase an additional 1,800 Credits, you’ll unlock 100 XP Grants in the Halo Infinite premium pass bundle. That’s enough for 25 Battle Pass levels right off the bat, perfect if you want a head start on the competition.
As with all games that offer a Battle Pass, rewards are divided into two tracks: free and premium. Players with the premium battle pass will unlock more than double the number of rewards than players limited to the free track, including the Judgment Flame Legendary Mythic Effect Set at tier 100.Â
That said, you can still obtain some pretty cool rewards while being completely free-to-play. For those players serious about their Halo experience that want to flex on enemies with progression rewards, though, $9.99 is a pretty reasonable price if you ask me. Plus, it’s nice to show a little support to 343 Industries if you enjoy the game and intend to spend a lot of time in it.
Halo Infinite Season 1: Heroes of Reach ends in May 2022, about six months from the time of writing. While each season will include its own Battle Pass, the current pass will continue to exist indefinitely, so players can feel free to return to it and continue progressing through it at their leisure.Â
Halo Infinite multiplayer is available for download now on PC via Steam or Xbox App, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The full Halo Infinite campaign launches on December 8th, 2021.
