September is here, and there is some new content for Animal Crossing New Horizons players to explore. Not only are acorns and pinecones available for the DIY Fall recipes, but there are also some new and returning fish to catch. This guide is for players in the Northern Hemisphere, so take note of the seasonality. For players in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasonality is usually a six month difference.

Fish to catch in September in Animal Crossing New Horizons

We have six fish to catch starting in September. These are the Pike, Cherry Salmon, Char, Golden Trout, Mitten Crab, and Sturgeon. You can only catch the Salmon and King Salmon exclusively during September. Both of them spawn at the river mouths. If you’re not sure what the river mouth is, it’s where the river meets the ocean. These fish are by no means challenging to catch as they are reasonably common in the river mouths.
