Everything You Need To Know About Lechonk in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Lechonk is one of the new Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You’ll encounter them fairly early in the game, and your friend/rival Nemona also makes use of one as one of her primary Pokemon. Here are a few specifics about Lechonk:

  • Category: Hog Pokemon
  • Type: Normal
  • Height: 1’8″
  • Weight: 22.5 lbs.
  • Abilities: Aroma Veil (Protects a Pokemon and its allies from moves that limit its move choices) and Gluttony (Makes a Pokemon use a held Berry when its HP drops below half)

Lechonk may appear to be rather chunky and lazy and, well, it is. But it’s also got a hidden wellspring of strength. Lechonk spends most of its time using its powerful sense of smell to hunt down the tastiest, most fragrant wild plants and Berries, much like a truffle pig.

It does a lot of walking around during this process, which means it burns up fat surprisingly quickly and builds up a lot of muscle. Don’t be surprised if you get bowled over by this Pokemon’s surprising strength if you accidentally startle it. As an added bonus, its particular preference in cuisine causes it to emit an herby odor, one that Bug Pokemon aren’t fond of. This helps keep stingers and bloodsuckers away from its vulnerable rear end.

No word yet on what kind of Pokemon Lechonk will evolve into, if it evolves at all, but with a cute face like that and a name like “Lechonk,” it’s probably a safe bet that it’s gonna grow into quite the lovable bundle of pork.
