How to Sign Up for Elden Ring Closed Network Test

Recently, I told a friend of mine that anything George R.R. Martin lays hands upon will take exponentially longer to come out than necessary. They told me I was crazy. Then, this morning, Elden Ring got delayed again. So I ask you, who’s the crazy one? Even so, if you’re turning feral in anticipation for Martin and FromSoftware’s tag-team vision, you might get a chance to experience a little slice of it. Here’s how to sign up for Elden Ring’s Closed Network Test.

Let’s start with a couple of clarifications. Firstly, what is a Closed Network Test versus a Closed Beta? Part of Elden Ring’s shtick is its online functionality, in which you can call up other players to join your world and adventure together, as well as see signs of other players playing in their own worlds. It’s similar to how Dark Souls did it, but the devs need to make sure everything’s working before they release it into the wild, so they’re running a stress test to see how many concurrent players their servers can handle without buckling. Secondly, this test is for console players only, no PC option available. Only players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S can register.
