The Lanes Between in Elden Ring are absolutely lousy with nasty beasties who would just love to pound you into the dirt, then pound you a few more times for good measure. Thanks to Elden Ring’s more open-ended design compared to previous Souls games, you don’t have to fight a lot of these guys if you don’t want to, but if you can work up the courage, great rewards await. One such fierce foe is the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil, a tall, armored humanoid who pounces on all fours like a vicious beast. Here’s where to find Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in Elden Ring.

Bloodhound Knight Darriwil is an optional Foe-class boss in Elden Ring. The choice to fight him is yours, but if you beat him, you’ll get a big jackpot of helpful items. The tricky thing about finding Darriwil is that his domain isn’t somewhere you can walk, at least not all the way. So, where is Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in Elden Ring?

Where to Find Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in Elden Ring

The first thing you need to do is go to the southeastern coast of Limgrave, at the top of a tall cliff facing the ocean. You’re looking for a special boss arena known as the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, a little pocket realm where Darriwil is imprisoned, waiting for an opponent. You’ll know the entrance to the Evergaol when you see it, as it’s marked by a glowing purple core on the ground of a stone arena.

When you stand on the core, you’ll get a notification that you can enter the Evergaol and challenge Darriwil to a fight. Should you accept, you will be teleported into Darriwil’s domain. Be careful, as this teleportation serves as a means of isolating you from the outside world. This means you can’t bring summoned friends into the fight with you, nor can you summon spirits. This is a 100% mano-a-mano fight between you and Darriwil, no interlopers allowed.

Darriwil is an intense opponent, lunging at you with monstrous speed and a Curved Greatsword in hand. His attacks all inflict Hemorrhage, draining your HP as you bleed out, so don’t try to take any of his swings head-on, even while guarding. Prioritize dodging and parrying and gradually chip away at him with every small opening you get.

If you can successfully defeat Bloodhound Knight Darriwil, you’ll be rewarded with 1,900 Runes, as well as the Curved Greatsword he was just pummeling you with, the Bloodhound’s Fang. Its damage scales with STR and DEX, the latter moreso, and its special skill, “Bloodhound’s Finesse,” allows you to perform the same leaping and lunging attacks that Darriwil used.
