Where to Get Bewitching Branches in Elden Ring

Here are all the ways to get a Bewitching Branch in Elden Ring.

The Lands Between of Elden Ring are an inhospitable place even in the best of times. Almost anything and anyone you encounter will either try to kill you immediately or try to kill you a little later after you’ve gotten to know them. The only steadfast allies you can rely on are your summoned spirits, but if you don’t mind some morally questionable magic, you can make a few extra friends. Here’s where to get Bewitching Branches in Elden Ring.

Bewitching Branches are consumable items in Elden Ring. When you use one, you’ll burn some of your FP and thrust it forward in front of you. Anyone that the branch stabs will be inflicted with charm magic, making them fight against their allies on your behalf. The effect won’t last forever, but even a couple of minutes of assistance can be all you need to turn the tide.

Where to Get Bewitching Branches in Elden Ring

There are four ways to obtain Bewitching Branches, though only one of these is sustainable:

  • Take one as a Keepsake
  • Loot one off a body
  • Buy five from a merchant
  • Craft them yourself

Taking Bewitching Branches as a Keepsake

When you’re creating your character at the start of the game, you have the option to select a Bewitching Branch as the Keepsake item you start with. This isn’t really a great idea, though, both because it’s a single-use item and because picking it as your Keepsake means forgoing something more practical like the Golden Seed.

Looting Bewitching Branches

If you’re in the Weeping Peninsula region, you can get one Bewitching Branch for free. Just visit the ruins due north from the Minor Erdtree in the region’s center and you’ll find a lone corpse surrounded by bats. Loot the corpse, and you’ll get a Branch.

Buying Bewitching Branches

If you’ve got some Runes to burn, go visit the Nomadic Merchant near Bellum Church in the Liurnia of the Lakes region. He’s got five Bewitching Branches in stock, and he’ll sell them to you for 1,600 Runes a pop. Once you buy them all, though, he won’t get any more.

Crafting Bewitching Branches

The best way to get Bewitching Branches is to craft them yourself, though, of course, this will require some legwork. You’ll first need to make your way to Mohgwyn Palace in the underground region. You can either get there either through a special teleporter in the Consecrated Snowfield or by using the Pureblood Knight’s Medal given to you by White-Faced Varre after completing his questline at Rose Church.

Once you’ve visited the Palace for the first time, fast travel to the Roundtable Hold and talk to Gideon to report the location of Mohg. He’ll reward you with Fevor’s Cookbook 3, which contains the recipe for Bewitching Branches. You just need one Sacramental Bud and one Miquella’s Lily to craft one.
