What’s the Best Seal in Elden Ring?

Here are our top picks for the best Seals in Elden Ring, and a breakdown of their requirements, scaling, and stats.

Compared to the more DPS-focused nature of sorceries, incantations, the other half of Elden Ring’s magic system, are a bit more utilitarian. There are plenty of offensive incantations, most of which deal in fire or holy damage, but there are also buffs, heals, traps, and more, some with more esoteric affinities like madness or black fire. To use incantations, though, you need to have a Sacred Seal equipped, and the power of your Incantations relies heavily on the Seal you use. So, what’s the best seal in Elden Ring?

What’s the Best Seal in Elden Ring?

Out of all of the Sacred Seals you can find in Elden Ring, there are three that you should definitely consider picking up, especially if you’re going for a Faith build. Those three are as follows:

Clawmark Seal

  • Incant Scaling: 60 at base, 146 at +25
  • Scalings: STR D and FAI D at base, STR B and FAI B at +25
  • Requirements: STR 4, FAI 10
  • Passive: Boosts Bestial incantations

The Clawmark Seal is a great workhorse seal, good for both early-game Faith-builders and late-game mixing and matching. The Clawmark Seal’s emphasis on Bestial incantations, which primarily take the form of large melee attacks, makes it handy for Strength fighters who want to sprinkle a bit of magical action into their playbook without completely committing to a Faith build. Both the seal itself and Bestial incantations have fairly low Faith requirements, and the seal doesn’t weigh much, so it’s nice to keep it in an off-hand slot so you can quickly swap to it.

Dragon Communion Seal

  • Incant Scaling: 60 at base, softcaps at +10 and 45 FAI/ARC with 336
  • Scalings: FAI D and ARC C at base, FAI B and ARC S at +10
  • Requirements: FAI 10, ARC 10
  • Passive: Boosts Dragon Communion incantations

If you’re putting all of your stock into Faith and Arcane, then the Dragon Communion Seal is basically a requirement. If you’ve got the stats for it, it can really bring the potential out of some of your more esoteric incantations, especially the Dragon Communion ones. Dragon Communion incantations do have somewhat high requirements, so if you’re gonna use them, you might as well go all the way with it. Dragon Communion incantations are some of the most powerful ones, not to mention the coolest-looking ones, so it’s totally worth it.

Erdtree Seal

  • Incant Scaling: 60 at base, 309 at +10
  • Scalings: FAI C at base, FAI S at +10
  • Requirements: FAI 40

If you’re super-duper serious about going all-in on your Faith build, then you’re gonna need the beefiest sacred seal on the block. The Erdtree Seal does have a high barrier of entry with its gigantic Faith requirement, but if you can meet that requirement, it’ll bring out the maximum potential of all of your offensive incantations. You may miss out on the specific boosts that come from specialized seals, but trust me, the raw output boost on your incantation scaling more than makes up the difference.
