Does Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Have Fall Damage?

Afraid of heights?

In contrast to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, previous generations of Pokemon games didn’t have so many cliffs and mountains, so the question “can I take fall damage” wouldn’t pop into most players’ minds back then. However, the landscape in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is diverse and has its ups and downs.

Does Fall Damage Exist in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet game is designed in a way to keep you from falling off of different edges. When you approach a cliff on foot, your character will hit a barrier and won’t be allowed to jump down. On the other hand, if you are riding Koraidon/Miraidon you can jump off a cliff as they have the ability to jump over small hills.

You can be safe as there is no fall damage when you jump with either of your legendary Pokemon on the ground below (whatever the height). Neither you nor your Pokemon will take any damage. Furthermore, if any of your Pokemon are sitting near a cliff and they fall down, they too won’t take any damage.

One thing you should know is that if you have fallen off a hill and you didn’t plan to, you can always press Y to get back up to the place you fell from. You have to do it quickly though, as the small message that prompts you to do this will appear for only a couple of seconds during which you can do this.
