Whether players are looking for a specific Pokémon to fill that slot in the Pokédex, or to locate a certain Shiny Pokémon. The Picnic function and its sandwiches can help the Trainer out a lot. Therefore, here is our guide to finding the sandwich ingredient, Wasabi in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Players who have finished the game and completed the three paths: Path of Legends, Starfall Street and Victory Road, will want to prepare for the Black Tera Raid Events. Therefore, the focus turns to building the best Pokémon team and finding those ultra-rare Shiny Pokémon. To do this, players can make sandwiches to feed their Pokémon in Paldea Picnics.

What is Wasabi Used for in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Wasabi is a condiment for the Picnic sandwiches which players can use to gain temporary Meal Powers. These Powers offer a 30-minute effect which helps aid the player in increased catching and finding chances, and bonuses from higher EXP and dropped items. Players are using the Picnic function as a fast-track means of EXP farming and Pokémon levelling up. Depending on the ingredients used in a sandwich recipe, players must choose which Meal Power effect they want to temporarily gain. Whether the goal is to find a specific wild Pokémon or to increase your chances of finding a Shiny Pokémon in a Mass Outbreak, the Meal Powers offer various recipes which help tremedously.

The Meal Powers effects in Scarlet and Violet are:

  • Catching – Increased chances of catching a specific Pokémon.
  • EXP – Increased EXP Points from battling a specific Pokémon.
  • Egg – Picnic basket Pokémon egg locator.
  • Encounter – Increased chance of locating a wild Pokémon.
  • Humungo – Increased chance of locating a large Pokémon.
  • Teensy – Increased chance of locating a small Pokémon.
  • Title – Increased chance of locating chance a titled Pokémon.
  • Sparkling – Increased chance of locating a Shiny Pokémon.
  • Item Drop – Increased dropped items from a fallen Pokémon.
  • Raid – Increased dropped items from a Tera Raid Pokémon.

Wasabi is located in one area of Paldea, on the eastern side of the region. The store in which players will find Wasabi, alongside other rare ingredients such as Kwalf Sticks, Curry Powder and Horseradish is in the Aquiesta Supermarket in Levincia. Levincia is located at the far-east side of the Paldea region, at the border, overlooking the East Paldean Sea.

In the Aquiesta Supermarket, players can find Wasabi towards the end of the Shop Inventory. The pricing of Wasabi is 330 Pokémon Dollars. Certain sandwich recipes using Wasabi help players with locating specific Pokémon Types. Such as the Great Klawf Claw Sandwich which helps players find Grass-Type Pokémon and Ultra Sushi Sandwich which helps players find Ice-Type Pokémon.
