The new Destiny 2 season is upon us, which brings a massive influx of new and returning players back into the action for some new quests and an all-new season pass. As the Showcase Event takes place and the new patch rolls out, you can expect a bit of a wait time to get into the servers. Destiny 2’s Season of the Lost is the first major content update in a while, so existing players will want to hop right back into the game as quickly as possible. As you can imagine, this puts a lot of strain on the Bungie servers. Between everyone downloading the patch and smashing the connect button, there are bound to be some issues.

Server capacity is often limited in Destiny 2 to maintain overall stability. Without it, the servers would crash, and the game would be unplayable for everyone. If you have ever played the game during any major updates, you’re already familiar with the process. The new patches always bring the players swarming back all at once.

That said, simply wait it out in the queue until your turn comes to log in. Do not try to leave and rejoin the queue, because you’ll just give up your spot in line and start back at the tail end. Be patient, and you will eventually be able to join and experience the Season of the Lost. Over time, the queue will die down, and you will be able to join instantly.
