How to get Skyburner's Oath in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 – How to Get Skyburner’s Oath

Destiny 2’s Skyburner’s Oath is an OG exotic scout rifle. It’s an energy primary weapon that’s unique, even among exotics. Skyburner’s Oath has two different firing modes. When firing from the hip, it behaves like a typical lightweight scout rifle; with the exception that it fires tracking rounds.

When ADSing, however, it becomes a slower, more powerful weapon – firing slugs capable of piercing Phalanx’s shields. As you could imagine, this was a great help back in the Red War days.

Even now, though, the Skyburner’s Oath has its place in many a loadout, so we’re here to tell you how to get it.

How to Get Skyburner’s Oath in Destiny 2

Skyburner’s Oath is a random weapon drop reward in Destiny 2. You can get it by completing Crucible matches, Strikes, Public Events, Weekly Milestones, and any other activity that can drop exotic gear. There is no method of guaranteeing it drops.

Don’t shoot the messenger, but that’s the unfortunate truth. If you didn’t have the good fortune to get Skyburner’s Oath back in the day, you’re going to have to play Engram roulette until it drops for you.

We wish there was a quest associated with it, but there just isn’t. All you can do is pray to the RNG gods that it drops for you while you’re doing your general weekly housecleaning.

Of course, there are certain ways to maximize your chances of getting an exotic drop and, by extension, maximizing your chances of getting Skyburner’s Oath.

How to Farm for Skyburner’s Oath in Destiny 2

If you have your heart set on getting Skyburner’s Oath, there are a few exotic farms you can take advantage of to maximize your chances of getting it. First, you get a number of exotic engrams from the Season Pass, so start leveling. Nightfalls also have a high exotic drop rate, as do the weekly rewards that grant you powerful gear from vendors.

Nightfalls, the Season Pass, and weeklies. Those are your three best bets to get Skyburner’s Oath to drop for you. Unfortunately, it isn’t armor, so you’re not going to be able to grind out Lost Sectors.

However, there is one other method of getting Skyburner’s Oath. Like every other method, though, this relies on RNG.

We’re talking about Xur – the mysterious Messenger of the Nine that sells a random exotic weapon every weekend.

If all the other methods fail you, you can hold your breath and hope that Bungie is kind to you with Xur’s rotations.
