Destiny 2 – How to Complete Final Dawn – Quest Guide

You're watching history unfold.

Figuring out how to complete the Final Dawn quest is your last challenge before Lightfall. It’s the penultimate quest of Season of the Seraph and sets the stage for Lightfall to take place – leading up to The Final Shape. This quest is perhaps the single most important one in the history of the series, so you really don’t want to miss it.

Speak with Rasputin

When you first load into Destiny 2 after completing More Than a Weapon, you will automatically be loaded into the Exo-Frame wing of the H.E.L.M. From there, go and speak with Rasputin. He’ll update you on the escalation of the current situation, then send you off to Seraph Station.

Eramis is attempting to take control of the station. This would give her access to the Warsats, letting her destroy the Traveller. Your job is to stop that.

Complete Abhorrent Imperative

Open up your Director and you’ll see a new mission node in the H.E.L.M. next to the Exo-Frame. This is for the mission Abhorrent Imperative.

The game is going to cap your Power Level for this mission. Enemies hit like trucks, but you don’t have to worry about Match Game or Champions.

Prioritize survival for the mission. Void Hunters, Void Warlocks, and Solar Titans are all top-tier options, as is something like Starfire Protocol.

You’ll load into the mission part-way through the Seraph Shield jumping puzzle. Abhorrent Imperative is set on Seraph Station, so it follows the same layout as those Seraph Shield missions.

Make your way up the puzzle and you’ll end up in a mini-encounter with Eramis. Do enough damage to her, then progress through to the boss arena.

The boss is the Wizard variant of the boss from Operation Dicoles. Defeat it, and you’ll be treated to possibly the best cinematic Destiny 2 has ever seen. I won’t spoil it for you – but you don’t want to miss it.

After recovering from the shock, you’ll be loaded into the Tower. You’ll need to check in with our key players to get their reactions to what just happened. This is some of the most somber stuff I’ve ever experienced in eight years of playing Destiny. Ikora’s response, in particular, was startlingly unsettling.

After finishing up in the Tower, you’ll need to head to the H.E.L.M. one last time to speak with the Exo-Frame and Ana. After finishing up there, you’ll be rewarded with an Ascendant Shard, Exotic Ship, and will have completed the Final Dawn quest.
